Family Reunion in Florida

Looking for recommendations on what to wear to a casual family reunion/BBQ in Florida over Memorial Day weekend. It's out in the country by a small lake – not by the ocean. Bound to be very warm and humid. I'm thinking chino shorts with topsiders, but what kind of shirt? Any recommended online stores for good chino shorts and tops? I'm on the shorter side, so longer length shorts usually go past my knee and look ridiculous. Looking for something of reasonable length that's not too "old man" looking.

Damn. You're absolutely right.

You know, the crazy part is that I grew up there, but have since lived over half my life somewhere else (yeah, I got citified). But there's wisdom in your words. Every piece of your advice caused me give myself a big "I could've hadda V8"-style forehead slap.

And, yeah, this is real no cell signal territory. But there are snakes. And alligators. And huge mosquitoes.

I just hope none of my relatives see this post or I'll be the laughingstock of the reunion.
