That is not from 1973. Versace did not start designing even until years after that :)

Many people make this mistake but its just an internal code numbering, not a date.

The jacket is from somewhere between 1996-2002.

Yeh, the tag was printed with a dot matrix printer, doubtful if garment makers were using them in 1973(unless they were exceptionally advanced and computerized).

I also doubt that Chinese fake factories were that advanced in the early 2000s.

Is this Hermes tie real?
I bought a used tie off eBay and was wondering about the "thread loop" because mine looks different than other pictures I've seen. The rest of the tie looks to be authentic. Here are two pictures of what might be the loop:

Fig. 1: Stitch of thread loop in question. Goes through to the back of the tie.

Fig. 2:Thread loop in question. Comes out of the space between the front and liner and returns there, tying down one of the sides of the tie.

Fig. 3: What made me question the authenticity is how badly centered everything is.

I haven't seen any that go through all the layers of the tie, and are this short. Does anyone know if this is fake or not?

Post a picture of the labels that say Hermes and also show the front of the tie.

I'm pretty sure everything else about it is characteristic of authentic Hermes besides the odd stitching.

I don't know well Hermès ties, but it looks authentic indeed. If it's a fake, it's a worthy fake that deserves to be worn.

More importantly, you need to know that the pattern of your tie is inspired by Jean de La Fontaine's Le Corbeau et le renard, a famous fable that virtually every French child knows by heart: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Raven_and_the_Fox
