I just dug this jacket out of a closet - a charity shop purchase from a few years back. I’m curious about whether it’s authentic. It fits well, but has strangely cheap-looking buttons (and non-working cuff buttons, FWIW).
Authentic WHAT, exactly? Those are corozo buttons, which aren’t cheap at all. The Loro Piana label refers to the fabric, not the maker, and while it’s not cheap fabric, it seems like everybody is using it these days. I don’t recognize the brand label but that means nothing. It purports to be Neapolitan but the mention of “futter” which I believe is German, referring to a cupro and viscose blend for the lining, makes me wonder. In any case it’s not a super well-known brand so unlikely to have been faked, and neither the fabric nor the buttons are cheap and the non- functioning sleeve buttons are meaningless. If it fits well, wear it in good health.

Under Per L'uomo it states Wien, which translates to Viena. My guess is an Austrian shop made this with Loro Piano fabric. Looks like a handsome jacket.

Thank you for this. It’s purporting to be Isaia, which is surely one of the best-known Neapolitan tailors (not quite on a par with Kiton and Attolini, but not far off).

However, this appears to be some kind of sub-label. Perhaps it was made for an Austrian menswear shop. I’ve seen similar things before, albeit mainly with Italian tailors making for US distribution; for instance, I have a Brioni jacket that was made exclusively for Neiman Marcus.

I know the Loro Piana label refers to the fabric, but I’m unfamiliar with this particular cloth.

Interesting about the buttons, which just look like plastic to me. I’ll wear it with pleasure, as you suggest.

it's made by Michelangelo (not exactly, but not affect. more info here), which tag is similar to isaia but you can find difference if check closely.

Hi everyone,

About to buy this tie, looks pretty legit to me but the CLASSICO tag kinda throws me off… weren’t those blue? Also the letters of it don’t look right. What do you guys think?

Pd: it’s online, so I don’t know how the silk feels on the hand

Hi guys,
New to the community. So here is my story...
Unfortunately, after a passing away, i inherited a lot of loro piana clothing. Many jackets which fit quite well, however many sweaters too which are beyond my fit. They are mostly size 54/6 XL or XXL and I am a medium so I have decided to sell them all.
I have sold a few cashmere sweaters successfully however I have a few left i was going to put up for sale. The thing is I have one sweater which sold and the buyer decided to ask for a return which I am happy to do. They have left me "detailed" explanation of why they believe it is unauthentic and I wanted to ask for advice. I have about 5 pictures of different sweaters.
Would anybody in the community be willing to give me any free advice?
Best wishes,
Lorik

Hey all!

Long time lurker of the site. Decided to create an account and will be around.

I need some Advice regarding a unused Loro Piana sweater someone offered me. Two months ago I bought a new Loro Piana crewneck sweater, so I have some reference. The label in the back of the neck of my sweater says "Loro Paina" with "Made in Italy" underneath it and the logo seems smaller. I dont know if its the exact same model, but there is a difference in the logo, hence this one only says "Loro Piana". The quality of the sweater looks good, so I was wondering if anyone of you has the knowledge to make a conclusion wether this sweater is real or a replica?Hey all!

Hi all. I am a woman and I know that this is a forum for men's clothing. But I would be very grateful if somebody would be so kind to provide me a legit check fo this Loro Piana pull-over. I have just bought it second-hand and I love it, but I want to be certain it's real, before I confirm the payment. The fabric is very thin (I can look through the fabric when I pull it over my head). The fabric is cashmere according to the seller (the pull-over doesn't have a composition label). The pattern is very chaotic, which seems less like the usual designs of Loro Piana. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to your replies.

Hi everyone, I just bought this cap second hand and I’m wondering if it’s fake or not. The strange thing is that the label doesn’t say it’s made of cashmere. Thanks in advance!
