Ok i’m here again, months ago i thrifted this beautiful coat. i wonder if this is just loro piana fabric or loro piana brand…
the coat seems to be 100% cashmere (very soft and cozy) about the lining there’s no information, but i think it could be silk?
the coat itself it’s really well made but i have this doubt that it was made by a tailor, that being said, how much you think this coat can worth?

basically i’m asking if this is original or not so i don’t think that’s off topic, beside this, wow 50 euro it’s hard to believe for a long coat 100% cashmere it’s so unfair

it is not Loro Piana coat, it’s made with it’s fabric. It could be super cool item and very well made. But the name makes coast:

1) you can be an influencer and sell that for 500-1000 eur, just because of your name.

2) you can have a shop famous and cool and set hogh price.

But if you are an average user it will be hard to ask high price just because of the name of fabric.

you’re totally right, but even if it’s not loro piana it still a pricey coat, made with luxurious material something that maybe has been cost 1000€
i think i will keep it

I've been browsing Ebay for used Ferragamo ties, and quite frequently come across this version of their slanted logo:

If you compare these to their current logo...

View attachment 1855189

... There is a marked difference, most noticeable in the "va" and "er" parts. (The ones on their official site look just like in the image above.)

The first two pictures come from well-reputed sellers on Ebay with tens of thousands of sales, but I cannot see how they could be authentic given the differences.

I'd be very grateful to hear your thoughts on this.
Real. Branding by at least Canali and Zegna on there ties is done the same.

This a real Kiton? Taken from the inside of the jacket
Those are consistent with actual Kiton tagging. The best test on a jacket, blazer or suit coat though, of any top brand, is probably not tag identification, rather it’s testing to see if the canvas is freely floating; if the jacket is fully canvassed. You can do this by feeling for the piece in between the button holes of a jacket, feeling for the piece of fabric in between. In a fused jacket, which is a heck of a lot easier to make, the canvas will be glued together with the wool. It’s my view, having bought hundreds of jackets and suits on eBay in the last 15 years, that a suit coat, jacket, blazer is a not often faked item. I have spotted fake Armani stuff through the years by label photos, really no other brands. Like I say that’s based on a sample size of greater than 300. A test for fully canvassed construction is not only a great test for authenticity of a better quality item it should also serve you well in deciding what brands of OTR (off the rack) and RTW (ready to wear) suits, jackets and blazers to buy.

Armani collezioni stopped being fully canvassed some years ago. Brands like Gucci, Dolce Gabbana, Versace are usually fused (ie glued) jackets.

counterfeiters are most definitely out there counterfeiting handbags and belts, tshirts and hoodies, but I very seriously doubt there’s counterfeiters making fully canvassed knockoffs of Canali or Zegna, even Kiton or RLPL.

the best thing that a study of tags for youcan yield is a rapid and reliable judge of the AGE of the garment. If you put some time in you can put together a pretty solid photo library of major brand tags of RTW clothing makers. That can help you decide to make a purchase on something on eBay. for example almost every time I do some serious shopping on eBay I find a seller with a 20 year old zegna jacket for sale for double what a late model is worth.

Gucci is either half canvassed or full canvassed (Made by Zegna), and Dolce and Gabbanna are made by Belvest and price aside are some very nice suits
