Today I got in the mail a "Charvet" tie I ordered from eBay (for $30). It looks nice enough but it is substantially lighter and less structured than my ties from Barba, Brioni, Canali and Zegna. It just doesn't feel nearly as nice as any of those other brands, but I haven't had a Charvet before so I'm not sure if I should expect it to be as hefty as those other brands. Did I get ripped off? I wouldn't have thought there would be a market in fake Charvet, given that most people haven't heard of it, but what do I know?

This thread is simply useless without photos. As a whole, Carvet is generally lighter and a finer silk than those brands, so it could be authentic.
