Bought a pair of AE MacNeils in Burgundy Cordovan that I believe were store displays as one of the shoes has already developed a patina (albeit a beautiful patina) while the other one looks like it has never been taken out of the box.
    Is this acceptable?
And if not, is there a way to correct the color with creams/conditioners/sunning the other shoe?
AE has offered me an exchange for any other cordovan shoe they have in stock but I really like the Burgundy MacNeil and this was the only one they had in stock nationwide.
    Need some advice!
    Thanks.

Yes, if sold as seconds or display model

Take them up on their offer, which they do not have to offer

    Paid about $300 for them.
Called up the store and they told me they could give me a full refund or exchange them for any other shoe because I've never worn them before.
Well... in any case... UPS label printed out and shoes are going out tomorrow.

Decided to post a picture of them before I drop them off at the UPS Store later today.
Anyone think these are salvageable? (ie: purposely leave the darker shoe out in the sun for a day)

Shoes have gone back to the store but there are barely any cordovan shoe seconds in stock left in my size.
Other than the loafers, my choices will pretty much be limited to: Leeds and Bradley in Black or Burgundy and I believe the Cambridge in Black.
A little bummed that I won't be able to get a replacement pair of Burgundy MacNeils but the Leeds in Burgundy look quite nice as well.
Should I just take the refund or ask for a pair of Leeds be shipped to me?
