I just purchased a barely used suit of this maker on Ebay for $249 (3 button navy chalk stripe). I saw the make on the SFWHSQL list in the *** category. Am I correct that I purchased a quality suit?

Here it is. I think the cut is too big. Comments?

Length is fine, just need to taper the waist a bit more and shorten the trousers hem.

I've only one experience with Facconable Tailleur by Albert Goldberg. It's fully canvassed and made by Cantarelli (quite a respected maker with quality).

Yes, it was a lucky find. Suit is in mint condition. Taking it to the tailor tomorrow. Cancelled my Off Saks order for two inferior Saks Black Label suits; fit well enough, but poorly constructed with inferior fabric (low end Zegna).

Here is a picture of the suit after alterations by my tailor. He removed the pleats and cuffs from the trousers along with taking the waist in a bit . He applied quite a bit of waist suppression to the jacket. Very pleased with the results!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
