Fabric/Maker Labels on Overcoat Sleeve

This probably doesn't deserve its own thread, but I saw the funniest thing while waiting in line for lunch today... some guy (late twenties, early thirties) was wearing an overcoat with the fabric and maker labels still attached to the sleeve! I so wanted to say something, but he was gabbing away loudly on his cell phone. One label said "Ralph by Ralph Lauren" (I think) and the other said "Cashmere Blend". Do you think he was trying to show off, or is he just ignorant? On a similar note, this guy in my office (lawyer, late twenties) thought his suits had "false pockets" because he didn't know that you had to cut that thread that sews the pockets shut on your suit jacket in order to use them! What other examples of sartorial ignorance have you come across?

It's an urban streetwear affectation that was popular several years ago and is still seen occasionally. The wearer is making a statement.

I was walking around Manhattan when I saw a guy with a pocket square on his suit jacket... he used a paper towel.

Absolutely horrendous.

That's more like leaving the sticker on your Yankees hat or the tag on your Bape hoody. I doubt that this guy is congiscent of any statement beyond perhaps a misguided pride in his diffusion line coat.
