Minor quibble. Whilst I don't doubt the tie offered is a fake, I'm assuming by "the same" you're inferring there is only one type of tag?

For the benefit of those searching styleforum in future for such detail (and ms244/triathlete)

<free bump>... My Hermes ties (all bought from Hermes Boutiques - UK/France/Monaco) feature two different types of tags:

1) Slightly larger and has "HERMES - PARIS" with the logo above. "100% SILK" and "DRY CLEAN ONLY" (two separate lines - left to right) down the left side of the tag with ""MADE IN FRANCE" and "100% SOIE" (two separate lines - left to right) down the right side of the tag.

2) Smaller tag that just has the logo. "DRY CLEAN" and "ONLY" (two separate lines - left to right) down the left side of the tag with "SILK" and "100%" (two separate lines - left to right) down the right side of the tag.

All of my Hermes ties have been purchased within the last few years, I suspect the label difference relates to the type of Hermes silk tie. Currently listed in "THE HERMES TIE AUTUMN/WINTER 2007" as:

Silk twill (based on my small collection - smaller tag)
Heavy silk (based on my small collection - larger tag)
Basket Weave (based on my small collection - smaller tag)
5-fold silk knitted (unknown - don't own one)
Silk knitted (unknown - don't own one)

As for the none-silks (cashmere, lambskin, wool/silk mix, wool/cashmere mix, leather etc), also unknown - don't own any.
