If I didn't have a budget to stick to, I'd go for this

but as of now, I think I'll stray from the more western/americana style I've been sort of getting closer to, and going more for a more classic look with a few beautiful knits (hopefully one of those raf simons ones) and button downs and trying to get hold of a good pair of lace-up dress shoes.

I can't really say what inspires me. I get into a lull once the sun starts to shine less and less. I hope to introduce some nicer sweaters and a new cardigan into my wardrobe. I've also been trying to find a way to work a jean jacket in somehow, and I always get nervous about how they look on me.

I guess actually as lame as it sounds, my biggest influence is print media or the folks who panhandle on my walk to and from work each morning.

the usual:

tons of cardigans, some vneck jumpers

harrington jackets & denim jackets

start putting l/s shirts in the rotation

sportjackets/blazers

occasional leather jacket

more wool trousers, therefore nicer shoes in general

suit and tie to walk down to the 7-11 for a cup of coffee

The quality of 7-11 coffee and the people loitering out front must differ greatly between your part of the globe and mine.

Probably the same as last year.
I haven't really updated my wardrobe. I kind of want to put some cash into getting my car but the damn insurance companies are being a pain and holding up the purchase.
I've had a very uninspired summer wearing American Apparel tees for the most part with jeans; it's being so damn hot at work.
Recent purchases that will work for fall are:

Carpe Diem Boots.

Items that will return are:

Veronique Branquinho leather Jacket
Dior Homme V-Neck sweater
Surface 2 Air 4 pocket flannel shirt
Kill City wax jeans
Alexander McQueen Skull Intarsia Cardigan
Rick Owen Lamb skin jacket
Patagonia Black parka
TSE Cashmere zip thru sweater
YSL V-neck sweater
Paul Smith Dip Dyed shoes Green & Blue
Dries Van Noten white wing tips (variant)
Red Wings

all accompanied by a trusty AA tee in Black, White or Gray

Snagged a FW Hare M65 so that will see plenty of use. Also have some cardigans and hoodies. I'm also looking into buying a track jacket. Nothing too heavy since I'll be in Socal.

I love winter.
I love winter clothes.

I think I have an outerwear fetish as there are already 4 pieces (Jil Sander metallic blue parka, Lanvin white/black houndstooth A-line coat, Thom Browne grey herringbone overcoat, Jil Sander "glencheck" black coat) I've held myself off from buying.

Can't wait to crack these out:
Etro db cashmere coat

Jil Sander grey peacoat

Jil Sander navy/black knit collar bomber

Etro brown/black with color flake herringbone jacket
etroprada.jpg

Michael Bastian suede shearling

Burberry Porsum oxblood leather utility jacket with racoon fur hood
Michael Bastian grey flannel suit

I love winter and outerwear.
