I agree. The aviator is one among the most overrated hype pieces around. Yet it's a pretty defined garment and the WJK piece is clearly channeling it.

• washed black jeans (after several black denim fails)
• tapered, elastic or drawstring ankle pants
• an MA-1 or other non-leather bomber of some sort, maybe vtg
• NO SNEAKERS (ok maybe wtaps vans)

you're right there.... the clothes are just clothes. both look almost the same yet are different. m.a.+ isn't a unique masterpice and wjk doesn't produce cheap copies.

it's a raw seamed hoodie, not similar in design to the m.a.+ piece at all.

WJK was originally helmed by Jun Hashimoto, formerly of Carpe Diem. Under which, in the first few seasons, he reproduced Carpe footwear, leather shirts, and the illustrious labcoat; there some other pieces I can't remember. You are right that they weren't cheap.

initially was dead-set on picking up a suit, but I realized I only wear one at weddings (so basically twice a year), so I might as well keep my lame J Crew jawns for now

otherwise:

- lavender OBCD (ideally Uniqlo will release this in their slim-fit model)
- couple of Taylor Stitch shirts, fit is perfect on me
- more tees, still looking for the perfect sub-$50 pocket T

I ordered a pair of green, cashmere-lined deerskin gloves from chester jeffries last year, very good value for money. I was just thinking I should get another pair in black. Let me know how the capeskin is if you decide on that.

Or maybe I should do camel leather.

Or parchment.

Or amethyst.

For this fall trying to find a couple of slightly older things. A pair of Cole Haan Nike Air Monroe penny loafers in papaya, and the Clarks x Supreme Map desert boot collab in red. No luck
finding either in the right size and color.
