That's actually a good price for Carpe Diem boots, think of them as an avant-garde equivalent of Lobb.

Lobbs typically sell for about 2/3 of that price on the forum. Are CD shoes made as well? It's not obvious from the pictures.

Well those are new and, yes, the quality is exceptional (they (used to?) get their leathers from Guidi) and are made using a lot of handwork, hence the comparison. CDiems retain a greater part of their value than Lobbs because there are a lot less produced and proportionally more demand for the few that are available outside of the usual retail spaces. As you probably know some "fashion" brands do retain a lot of their value on eBay and such (a well known example would be Dior Homme).
