Great thread, subscribed.

@Gus do you take all your frames to your regular optician?

Yes. I'm fortunate to live near a UC professor of Ophthalmology who both teaches and has a retail location. Being a prof at a leading university he is on the leading edge of the latest and best developments in testing and lenses. I buy frames anywhere but take them to him. The optic results are very obvious compared to the typical optical store that sells eyewear and fills your prescription. I get a much better range of vision and focus, both far and near for my progressive lenses. As an added benefit, he charges about $200 less for lenses than the leading optical shops in San Francisco, even when they have 'sales".

@gdl203 (NMWA) has some very attractive frames, and, on sale right now. I think both these clear and honey color frames make quite a stylish statement.

Gus I have two pairs of blue mirrored avaiators. One from Ray Ban a couple of years ago with bronze frames and one from Roka with chrome frames.

Aviators may have a slightly more casual feel but that’s offset by the metal frames. I wear the bronze Ray Bans when I’m wearing my royal blue suit and bronze grenadine tie (see what I wrote earlier about matching not just the formality of the outfit but the actual outfit colours?)

I recently discovered Roka. I have two of their aviators - the above mentioned blue/chrome and another pair with bronze frames and copper mirror lenses. They look just like standard Aviators but are made for athletes with triathlons in mind so they have very soft grippy non slip silicone in the nose pads and ear pieces and the lenses are treated with all kinds of fog- and sweat-proofing. Also they’re titanium so VERY light and comfortable to wear.

I don’t post fit pics that often on SF but in just about every pic I post on rodsmodblog.wordpress.com I’m wearing shades.

I'm a big fan of MASCOT brand eyewear (see post #3 for some company details). These are classic styled tortoise acetate with grey/green lenses. I'll grab these to wear with just about anything but especially with a jacket or suit.

Two of my Moscots. Both are the Lemtosh model, but the the black/blue-frame is the medium size and the black/transparent frame is size large.

Speaking of sunglasses...I saw these Mascot sunglasses at Dover Street Market in NY. I like this shape frame, the green lens and clear frame. Mascot is an old NYC brand that began in 1915 on the LES. I believe it is still family owned. Best of all they are doing some cool, stylish frames.

I tried the Moscot Miltzen model but it was a little cartoonish. Lemtosh is their most popular. Really got into The Bespoke Dudes and have their Cran model in black, brown and clear. Will post pic of eyeglasses later. Prescription glasses from a great German brand called Lunor.
