I asked a question because I don't personally know the answer to it and I was hoping someone might tell me something that I didn't already now. Seems that this was overly optimistic.

I'm not "overthinking" anything. The thread title suggests it will contain discussion or images of clothing beyond simply oversized, whereas the reality is it's pretty much all just oversized. This simply made me wonder whether there's anythign else going on in the world of menswear that could be considered avant-garde but that isn't oversized. If I knew what that was I wouldn't be here wasting my time posting the same question three times.

What is there about my question that is so complicated that it has either been greeted with total incomprehension or suggestions that I "be the change I want to see in the world." I sincerely hope that none of you work in education.

Look, you coulda come in here and been like "Hey guys there seems to be mostly oversized fits in this thread - here's some advanced **** that I think fits the theme without being baggy" and then shared some images - i.e. contributed. Instead you come in here with a luke-warm take and your hand out like you're waiting on someone else to do the thing for you.

So here you go - hey guys, someone else noticed there seems to be mostly oversized fits in this thread - here's some advanced **** that I think fits the theme without being baggy (okay still one baggy) : Arnar Mar Jonsson

Yes, perhaps that's a fair criticism. Only I don't have any to share.

Yours are interesting though. Thanks.

It's curious, though, that you all consider asking questions to be a form of taking rather than giving. Personally I think there's no greater gift than having my assumptions challenged. I didn't have to point out that the entire thread is made up of oversized clothes (and I'm not interested in "internet points", whatever they might be, just in stimulating conversation). Presumably most of you don't care one way or the other anyway. But someone else reading might think, "yeah, interesting point, I'm happy this dude shared that."

Not everyone has the same way of communicating. Where's it written that posts on the internet must be upbeat and written in a generic tone that could be anyone?

In other contexts it's called "consulting." A service for which people charge considerable sums of money

How does it feel to be the poster child of /r/iamverysmart?

How does it feel knowing that your crowning achievement in life will be peaking on the bell curve?

irt the above, this is the big clothe threak no? what with "oversized" being right in the title and all.

going back to the earlier posts its all yuge silhouettes so how this^ is less worthy of chitchat than 80s armani (which is cool & good in a different way) makes no sense. perhaps there was more of a dialogue back then but water you gonna do. i just like sharing cool pics of cool clothes

Also happy to report that this season of Toogood is much improved over the last two. They've switched to manufacturing in Poland and though it's certainly not a return to form, their stuff is improved. The Birkenstock capsule is mostly good too.
