Saw this movie a couple days ago and liked it. Any SFers seen this one yet?

Worth the watch, I'd put it on equal footing with Office Space - it's not as quotable, but it does perfectly resonate with a prevalent part of American culture in a similar fashion, and that's what made Office Space interesting to me.

I liked Idiocracy. This movie communicates a very similar message but in a much more subtle and relevant way.

The best word I could use for it is "sincere."

If you like Jason Bateman's typical character (basically Michael from Arrested Development), you'll definitely like his character in this one.

I saw it last week - I think it's a good netflix choice. If you live anywhere where they charge more than $7 or $8 for a showing I'd suggest waiting. It doesn't need to be seen on the big screen, and I don't think it was funny enough to benefit further from that group experience of seeing it in the theatre.

But I agree - it did feel sincere, and Jason Bateman is fun to watch.

It may be because people go into movies in a more guarded state the first time they see them, but after that you're more willing to accept the shortcomings and appreciate the high points.

Pleasant film. Not a lot of 'there' there. But pretty good. Some nice writing.

Why the Ben hate? I don't always like him but I thought he did fine.

It was a decent Sunday afternoon movie. A number of pretty funny parts though no gut busters.

I thought his performance in this movie was particularly cringe-inducing. He was very awkward. He's not a funny guy and has poor comedic instincts and timing. It just didn't work. A different actor could have done some scene stealing with the same material. Affleck just weighed the movie down with his presence.

Funny, when I watched this movie my instinct was "Affleck should be playing characters like this more often." He was super awkward and unsure of what he was doing at any moment. I liked it a lot.

If one entertainer deserves my 10 bucks it is Mike Judge. He keeps me chuckling for 20+ years with a qaulity media.

movie was good, in a quite way. Not a lot there is a good way to describe it. Never thought of Kristen Wiig as attractive, but she had an attractiveness in this film, maybe because she was such a slut for the poolboy. Mila K looked super hot and I thought Affleck was really good in his role.
