This is supposed to work extremely well, with some folks claiming they're on day 60 of the same razor/cartridge

Switch to DE razor, buy derby blades for 10 cents each, throw away after each use. Still probably cheaper and you get a better shave. You don't even have to throw them away each time, you could probably get 3 good shaves out of one.

It's probably more cleaning than honing. I've been told and am to lazy to find a citation for by a friend at the Philips razor department that oxidation is the main culprit of blunt razorblades. Makes sense anyway since my razors get dull overtime when in use or when not in use. Perhaps, thee following can be used as well:

+1, **** that disposable bull ****. You'll get a much closer shave and the blades are insanely cheap.

If you're worried about rust just rub the razer on a towel to dry it after use.

Detach the blade after each use and let it soak in rubbing alcohol. Ruins the green stripe thingy but keeps the blade sharper for longer.

How difficult is shaving with DE, technically?

If you can shave with a disposable razor, you can shave with a DE razor, just takes some getting used to. A weeks shaving and you're a pro with the DE. Obviously if you have bad acne of stuff like that, a DE razor will shred that **** right up, but I assume this is not the case.

Takes about a week to get used to. My first razor was a DE though so I didn't have any bad habits. You should have to learn the angles of your face, especially around your chin and go slow and its easy. You'll probably cut yourself a few times the first week, but I haven't cut myself in months.

Do you use soap or is regular gillette fusion hydra gel foam plenty? Might want to try that DE razor, even though that thing looks scary as hell. Just need to find a place to purchase blades - and of course the DE razor
