1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

So I sent this to Aus Post:

    "Greetings

A parcel was sent to me from the U.K about 2 weeks ago. The parcel, which was very small and light was sent via 'Royal Mail' and was sent with tracking.

Over a week ago, the Royal Mail tracking system registered the parcel as arriving in Australia.

    You can check here:
    track2.royalmail.com
    ID Number: LY666490297GB

So the parcel did arrive in Australia, but Australia post has failed to deliver it, or has lost the parcel.

    Michael
    "

    And received this back:

    "Hi Michael,

I am sorry to hear that you have not received your parcel in the timeframe you expected. I understand that it is frustrating and annoying when you are expecting a parcel and it does not arrive when you want it to.

I can confirm our records show this article was prepared for dispatch to Australia on the 20th of November, but has not yet arrived. Usually this service takes between 7-15 business days for delivery to occur.

Please note that the Royal Mail website states "passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in Australia" once an article has been dispatched to Australia, and not when it has arrived into Australia.

I recommend you ask the sender of this item to contact their posting agent in the UK so that they may commence an investigation as the item should have already arrived.

If there is anything further I can do for you please feel free to email me a reply and I will be glad to help. I hope you have a lovely day.

    Kind regards,

Basically, Aus Post isn't claiming any responsibility. What is a fair outcome for Shaya and I? I have ordered about 4 different things from the U.K in the last month and they have all arrived with no problems. I don't understand how this parcel went missing!

Looking good [IMG] Those squares are incredibly versatile.

Just got off the phone with Royal Mail, they said that they have to allow a maximum of 25 working days before they can investigate/make a claim for a lost package. The lady said the earliest she could do something would be the 28th December. This is rather frustrating.

I must be your first customer that has had something lost in transit :(.

Well, once 25 days comes around, try and start up an investigation. Considering you posted it mid-November, it is slack of her to suggest it can't be chased until after Christmas :(.

BTW people, Shaya has always replied within 5 minutes of me emailing him. Great service.

Well, for those that have been following the story, Shaya posted out 3 pocket squares on Wednesday 14th of November. They arrived today, Monday 10th of December, a whopping month to get from the U.K to Australia. One must wonder what Australian Customs does all day.

The scary thing is, today, Shaya was going to resend 3 more pocket sqaures. I pray that he has received my email before sending out the next bunch!!

Anyway, the P Johnson squares are wonderful, and I am very happy.

Some exciting things coming to the store over the next few weeks.

    • A1 by Ring Jacket - Delivery expected today
    • White linen handkerchiefs in 3 sizes and also available in boxes of 3. Can't believe I didn't have any on the site until now!
    • Luxurious ties in cashmere, wool and silk from Napoli.. The maker will be revealed when they arrive in about 10 days, I'm very excited about this one. 50 ties in 3.5" x 59" and 3 ties in 3.25" x 58".
    • More socks from Sozzi Calze, ribbed, birdseye in OTC and mid-calf.

    • The Ring Jackets have arrived.
    • Detailed pictures are in the spoilers. I have tried to cover as much details as possible, but if you have any questions please feel free to leave a message here, PM me or email me: shaya@exquisitetrimmings.com
    • The first 2 pictures of each item are the best. The ones with the tape measure are much darker so you can see the numer on the tape measure and to illustrate how I measured.
    • If you don't think any of the measurements are correct, ask me to take different ones with pictures. I don't mind.
    • Regarding the price. I said it wouldn't go over $400, however, I got hammered with a customs bill over £1100, so it has crept just over. The final price, including all fees, shipping and everything is £270 ($430). I believe this is still much cheaper than can be bought anywhere else.
    • Payment via PayPal is preferred and in GBP.
    • Stock is extremely limited and it is first to pay, gets it.
    • Depending on location, it is very likely to have it before Christmas (i.e. if you are in the UK or NY)
    • I think that's everything.. If you have any questions, ask away.
