I've bought twice from them. Good experience. Their online order status information is great as well: thorough and kept up to date (this is my experience, at least).

I love C& J lasts but am afraid of improper fit re width. I have made the expensive mistakes of buying Sutor Mantellassi shoes, without paying heed to width, only to have to donate said shoes to my younger brother.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Have you worn any other C&J shoes for comparison? I'm a 9.5E UK in the Connaught (Last 241) but a 10E UK in the Audley (Last 337), sizing up because the 337 is narrower.

I'm in the UK, which accounts for the fast shipping. As for processing the order and shipping it away, this is just a guess, but I placed my order fairly early in the morning, London time -- pretty much as soon as the sale page went active -- so my order was probably in queue ahead of yours, unless you were online and ordering at a seriously nocturnal hour in Toronto.

Ordered on Sunday Dec 19th, order shipped the following Tuesday. Showed up in Seattle on the 24th. Only problem was they mistyped my address on the delivery label and it tracked as undeliverable. Post Office folks were amazinging nice and found it for me.

My previous pediwear order was similarly quick and without the wrong address.

BTW, Tricker's come with Dansko trees and a tin of polish. Your subsequent Tricker's orders are also 5% off.

I ordered some C&J Audley (337) and was pleasantly surprised they will be shipped with free shoe trees.

I'm a 13 and went with a 12.5 UK which they told me should fit like a glove from their past sales experiences.

I sure hope that's the case!

Great people to deal with.

Is there more to this story that you're not saying or is their customer service really this poor?

Nope, nothing more to it.

I probably could have successfully argued with them, but I try not to get my blood pressure up over $15. I just won't do business with them again.

Even with shipping Pediwear's shoes seem to be at least $100-$200 cheaper than the NYC store, especially when you consider NYC sales tax of 8.875%.

I ordered on the 27th, and they actually emailed me back on the 29th. I just didn't see it because it was in the junk mail folder.

I always feel weird doing this...making the sales guy work so that I buy elsewhere. I've been wanting a couple pairs of C&J shoes, the Lowndes Double Monk and Wigmore Wingtip Oxford.

Has anyone in the states been able to return/exchange a pair of shoes via mail at Pediwear?

Got my shoes finally! Damn Tricker's are nicer in person that I thought.

Custom fees killed me though. $84.00 CAD in total.

+1. It always strikes me as at least robbing the merchant of their time, if not the sale. I don't do it or, if I found myself in a position where I felt the need, I'd be upfront with the clerk and spiff him for his time. Now that I think about it, I should probably be spiffing the owner but then it's complicated...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
