    Hey everyone,

I was wondering if people had had any experience with Modern Tailor's non-iron fabrics. I'm thinking of getting a shirt from them in probably a blue twill with some kind of funky patterned contrasting around the interior neck (nice that they offer that option) but hate ironing/dry cleaning. Still, I'll iron if the shirt is worth it, but would rather not.

Have people on SF gotten one of their shirts with non-iron fabric? Any idea of the comparison between a regular fabric and the non-iron equivalent?

    Thanks so much!

I had bought one of the non-iron fabric shirts from moderntailor.com and I absolutely love it... that being said.... I would recommend that you get a hand on their swatch before you place your order. It makes a whole world of difference to have the actual fabric in your hand and to be able to look at it and touch it and feel it before you order the shirts....

Interesting idea. How do you order the swatch book/how much does it cost? It's not readily apparent from their website...

I'm not sure if it's still ongoing, but they used to have a deal where if you bought the swatches for $25 you also received three $10 vouchers.

No, they send (from what I can tell) a random assortment.

The book I received had maybe 25% marked with the fabric #, the rest were just there to look at, I guess. Among the roughly 50 swatches, there might have been 5 I would consider, but was not in love with.

It would have been worth the $25 to me if they sent a better selection, all labeled. Or, if you could somehow add fabrics of interest to a cart online, and have those swatches sent, that would be ideal. I'd be willing to pay $5 per 10 swatches for that option.

Seems these swatch books are quite the topic. I have a problem that it seems to be put together pretty poorly. I know other members have gotten credit when they have ordered a shirt for the swatch book but it makes me a bit weary.

the swatch book I ordered last month was fine.... it had none of the problems in the earlier posts (the book was put together correctly, all fabrics were labelled, etc.) . It certainly wasn't all of their fabrics (around 50). And they didn't charge for shipping (just the $25 and the 3-$10 coupons).

Yeah, but random fabrics wtf? Can I at least choose the 50 I like most? I don't like most of the fabrics on their site.

    why don't you ask them?

Because that is not the SF way? Complain loudly here and expect miracles elsewhere.
