I came across a fantastic Polar bear rug at an estate sale this summer, though hesitated from picking it up, deeming it a little egregrious for a student's apartment.

The only taxidermy are a few mounts by my great-grandfather & grandfather from Russia, early 20th and late 19th century. I admit, I wouldn't mind coming home from a long foxhunt to a traditional game room.

I would have bought that provided good condition and good price.

I've recently become somewhat keen on python skins which has a very interesting pattern. I imagine it would be great to upholster a chair that had been burnt and charred by Maarten Baas in a vibrant python-skin:

How about some lively company?

Firescreens made from various birds, so grotesque, it's fun:

A catalogue I received just today, included some amusing examples of exotic accessories, and furniture.
I especially like the ostrich egg stand.

I love tortoise-shell. My mother always wore tortoise-shell sunglasses. My sister owns a black Saint Laurent suit in grain de poudre, with tortoise-shell buttons at each lapel. Worn with a chiffon animal print blouse, from the same line. It is out of this world.
The Vivre catalogue is always fun. Some nifty, skull embossed stationery from Assouline. A pair of dress shoes, from Barker and Black Ltd., comes with hand tacked brass skull and crossbones adorning leather soles.

I'm surprised Vivre is still in business. I recall it was started--like all the other luxury e-retailers--during the Dot Com Boom. There was also the ill-fated Luxlook.com which was later bought out by eLuxury.

Though I suppose its virtue is in that it offers a more eclectic selection than the mass luxury of such places like eLuxury.
