    I read the article. I don't believe that the article adresses the issue of weight gain. It only deals with preventing some short term effects that can compound over time into clogged arteries.

    Mild exercise can aid weight loss, but you're right - that wasn't one of the article's themes. Sorry about the wording.

    IMHO, Any exercise at all would help a lot of folks with a lot of problems. Anything to get the word out and the people moving is a good thing.
