Saw a pair of 'Function Evisu' jeans on a thrift-store rack the other day. They had no sideways-E 'gulls' on the back pockets - but an 'Evisu' red tab like on a pair of Levi's - large asymmetrical hems on the legs, and a buckle adjuster on the waistband, as well as a red and black 'Function Evisu' tag on the inside waistband. Really poor knockoffs? Diffusion line? Any ideas? Also, I've heard tell of a tailored line called Evisu Deluxe. What's that like, design-wise?

While in Bangkok last month, I saw some absolutely incredible Evisu knock-offs selling for about 1000 baht (under US$25). Everything from the fabric to the rivets to the pockets to the stitching was absolutely bang on. I cannot fathom who would buy real Evisu jeans knowing that such utterly identical knock-offs are out there.

But if you buy knockoffs, all the fashionistas, they'll know. They can see it in your eyes. And then you won't be cool anymore. You want to be cool... right? Â [IMG] (Replying primarily to bump thread back to the top. I gots ta know, dammit.)
