bags on fbook!
Looks great. Guess they changed their mind about the water bottle holder?
Finally found my backpack... using it for the first time today. Didn't realize it was lined, nice detail.
also looks like they raised the prices on the backpacks to $60
edit: actually it looks like they are 65 and 60 for the pop up shop
anyone in NY able to proxy a backpack?
This happens with all SF SW&D brands. Quoddy, Filson, Red Wing, Alden...
Once a brand gets SF approved the price jumps or any coupon codes/secret discounts get taken away.
or it could be that the new ones are a different design than the old ones and that's why they're priced differently...?
They look the same to me. The cost of making them might have risen though.
Cost of making them definitely did not rise by $15. It's just business.
yeah im sure this is true ... maybe they will give us a special SF discount :/
Raising prices like this won't do Everlane any good. They should know this by now.
Their main selling point was their prices. The weekender was obviously overpriced. It still hasn't sold out in any color even with Britney Spears, GQ, and the New York Times endorsing it.
I originally brought into the hype and planned to buy 2 of the weekenders. After waiting a couple days I decided it simply wasn't a good deal. Target has a canvas weekender with a leather strap for $25 or $10 when it goes on clearance. ASOS and Topman also have similar made in China bags for <$40
Edit- FWIW the original backpack was a good deal for me at $50. I use it almost everyday.
As much as it pains me to write this I have to agree. There is a big difference between a $50 bag and a $65(mentally almost $70) bag. unless their manufacturing or shipping costs went up drastically I dont think it's a smart move. Regarding the weekender, I bought one, haven't received yet but I'm already having buyers remorese. $95 is too much for a canvas bag with crappy leather handles. My wife has the tote bag and while she likes it her complaint is with the leather straps. They are not great quality and she gets brown residue on her shirts after using the bag. It appears the weekender has the same straps but maybe I'm wrong.
I love (shirts especially) Everlane and think the concept is great but they need to stay the course with pricing.
I got the Made in USA tote for my GF. The brown residue has been an issue for her too.
However, the price on the tote was reasonable. $35 Made in USA totes with some leather can't be found anywhere besides Etsy.
I was interested in getting the weekender bag as a carry on luggage but I'm quite doubtful now.
Welp, looks like another case of
Separate names with a comma.
