It was a sketch comedy show, I don't think it was for or against unions (agenda-less, if you will, other than to be funny). This thread just reminded me of it, you fucking scab.

I wonder if the projectionist's union is part of the reason it costs $15 or whatever to go watch a farking movie these days.

I can count the number of times I've been to the movies in the past 10 years on one hand.

Are all scabs "fucking" or just me?

P.S. Have not scabbed for nearly 2 decades. Now I'm more in the roll of keeping unions out of my organization.

    I don't know and I don't care.

That's the problem with this country. No one cares anymore. [IMG]

Never has fazed me to cross a picket line of any sort.

Depending on circumstances, I might be worried about reprisals against my car, though.

I haven't run into the situation. My dad told me about how he had to cross the line to get to work for a while about 20 years ago; he wasn't actually a scab but all the picketing union guys thought he was.

Now, as an exec, he works vehemently to keep his company union free.

    A projectionist for movies?

    In 2009?

Bunch of fucking anachronistic retards dearly holding onto a dying (or already dead) job simply because that's all they can do.

I had a situation catch me offguard last night. Was going to see Inglourious Bastards with my woman and we get to the theater to find that the (ex) projectionists picketing outside. Apparantly they'd all been given the permanent ax the day before, presumably after some union negotiation broke down. We ended up going in to the movie anyway, though we avoided the snack counter at the request of the picketers. I felt vaguely guilty throughout the screening, and in hindsight wished I would have passed on the movie. Am I an ass?
Yes you are an ass but it happens. I crossed a picket line when I really needed a bottle of water (although come to think of it the Union might have settled by that point), and at least you had the common decency to feel bad about it. No idea of you care about such things but you are on the short list of posters I absolutely cannot figure out.

Scabbing (crossing a picket line to WORK) is different from OPs question.

Why the fuck should projectionists be unionized? High school kids can be projectionists, for gosh sake.

I bumped into 2 picketers at a movie place a couple years ago in NYC. I wasn't even going to the movie. I laid into them... "These people are trying to have a nice evening going to movie and you are out hear trying to make them feel guilty? "

Union fucks trying to expand their power base, bringing no value to anyone but the union leaders.

I'm with the person above - but I'd buy a jumbo popcorn and take it outside and give it to the picketers as a gift.

Union leaders often do NOT have their members best interest at heart. (See the NHL hockey strike a couple of years ago). They are power-trippers first - and smart second.

Why the hell you'd feel guilty for going to a movie is beyond me.
