Is this a parody section or something? Reading the past "looks" from the magazine is just as pathetic (I can't decide whether the aging woman in the cow spot coat, the pompous/constipated expression on the pink-scarf wearing bouncer, or the trying-way-way-way-too hard psuedo-Bohemian look on the NYU girl is the worst) and reinforces every bad stereotype one might have about New Yorkers. Is this type of look/attitude really that common?

I looked thru the archives at all the guys, and every single one of them looks absolutely ridiculous.

And no this is not how your typical NYer dresses- not by a long shot. As many times as I've been there I rarely notice people dressing trendy- BUT then again I don't frequent the neighborhoods where that is a big thing so my experience is probably skewed.

I like the Look Book. I like tiny featurettes showing how eccentric people dress. NY is, and should be, a haven for such people. So should other great cities. i-D magazine in London 20 years ago was just a booklet of dozens of such photos, only they were all of young people.

Reading Gawker's take on The Look Book usually makes my Wednesday/Thursday.

Their analysis on the kid who worked at the record label about a month ago almost caused me to spew coffee out of my nose. The leathered UES couple two months ago was just embarrassing too.

I thought that Italian couple looked okay too - although they sounded exceedingly vapid and their *looks* were pretty pedestrian (very Italian though - pretty much could have been any youhng Italian couple I know - especially the guy's stuff.). I did like the parking attendant's style - man's got style.
