Just bought an Etro shirt off of ebay. Â Say what you will, but I've been wearing etro shirts on a casual basis for a couple of years now. So I found a deal I couldn't pass up here. Â Etro Shirt My question is, how can I tell if it is authentic? Â Are there clues (label placement, stitches per inch, etc.) I should look for? And if it is fake ... do I have any recourse as a buyer? Thanks, Hoya

I like Etro shirts too and find them quite nice as a casual shirt. If you've been wearing them for the past few years, could you not compare them to what you have?
That being said, the only thing I can suggest is to see if "ETRO" is engraved around the button.

I just did that ... no Etro engraved around the button. And I noticed that the buttonholes look far less finished than my legit Etro shirts. And the tag isn't the same color ... it's a bit lighter than my other shirts.

I've got a sinking feeling that I've got a fake on my hands.

Oh well, anyone interested in purchasing an "Etro replica"?

Haha...i just responded to your post on the HonestForum. The difference in tag style/font size and also the sizing label placement make me think that it's a fake.

I think "Etro Inspired" is more honest and sounds better [IMG]
