Etiquette question: should I ask my tailor to undo a bad "fix" for free?

I recently used a very highly-regarded DC tailor to work on some suits I'd purchased on SF, and am concerned about the result. He seems like a nice guy, but the work he did on the suit jackets made them really tight across the back--to the point where I can't put my arms out straight in front without pulling the hell out of the back of the jacket. He suggested taking in some material in the back just below the armholes because it was "sagging" underneath the arms (his words).

I feel like the armholes weren't really high on the suits to begin with (Isaia S and Zegna Roma), but now the back of the jacket pulls if I do anything other than stand straight with my arms at my side. When I'm standing straight, the back of the jacket looks clean--no vertical drape or fold line next to the arms--but there are a series of lines/ripples starting about mid-shoulderblade headed down toward the armpit.

My thinking is that he just took in too much on the rear side seams, and not only threw the coats out of balance but made them uncomfortable to boot. Do you guys think it would be unreasonable for me to ask him to fix it without charging me again? I paid over $500 for him to do all the tailoring on three suits, but I feel like the darn coats fit better off the rack than they do once he was through with them. I'd hate to have to pay him *again* just to get it fixed.

Your thoughts?

Man up and tell him you're unhappy with the way it turned out and ask him what the next steps are.

The answer to your question is yes. Your three paragraphs of explanation are completely unnecessary.

Surprsing comeback from somebody entirely lacking in testicular fortitude.

Jeezus. I obviously made a pretty basic error in asking this collection of freaks for advice on manners...

Crazy thin skin. You got the same answer three times, and it was even the answer you were looking for.

The Standard StyleForum Thread OP, new to forum: Trying to figure out this situation, not sure if Y or Z is correct SF: You're an idiot, of course you should do Y over Z OP: Okay, gosh. You don't have to be so mean about it, just tell me the answer without your color commentary SF: Well maybe if you weren't such an idiot we wouldn't have be like this OP: Okay I guess I shouldn't have asked SF: A bunch of anonymous people just answered your idiotic question so you don't have to do any work. You should be thrilled with us. OP: [never seen again]

Whut he sez. In the very social polynesian oriental latin world of Hawai'i, I would go back to the alterationist, and tell him, 'Look, this ain't workin'. How should we proceed?' He makes good, both of you have found an ally in the good fight. He whinges and wants dough, assuming it actually was his fault, you either go with him or not, and never go back. Cheap lesson. Aloha, Poinz

^^ OP should just be glad he didn't post a really awful inquiry, say, solicitation of advice on blue tinted gucci loafers.

Raising the armholes of an Isaia base S? Craziness.

You shouldn't have to pay your tailor anything additional to fix these issues. I just hope that he can.

As you recall, I got terribly offended in that thread.
