. Is there any other Asian country with a greater origonal contribution to mainstream men's style?

As tailored menswear, as we know it, is largely British in origin, and no colony had more of an impact on the British Empire than India, I think you know the answer. Most Englishman think their national food is curry, forfuckssake.

Japan and China have also had tremendous impact on all aspects of design and art in the West over the years, as did the Middle East and indeed everything once known as the Orient.

Also, regarding the discussion vis-a-vis India: I wouldn't say all of the achievements of the Indus Valley/South Asian region can be attributed to what is modern day India. Pre-Moghul India has as much to do with modern day India as Germany or Britain has to do with Ancient Rome.

Nonetheless, it is undeniable that South Asian and Indian fabrics and designs were, and continue to be, enormously popular in Britain the West.
