what would be the first two you'd buy? i remember the suit had a section on formality of ties. i think it was a knit first then a rep. so what do you think of a navy square end knit and a navvy rep with white stripes?

If I only had two ties for business casual, I don't think a knit would make the cut.

I'd go for a burgundy/navy block stripe repp and green/navy or light blue/navy block stripe rep. Either works well with a blazer, and the green or light blue is a good summer look.

yeah good call. i guess it's not the norm in my office as people were asking what kinda tie it was when i wore mine, must be because of the uncommon shape. interesting so you would go with 2 repps.

looking at my ties that i can wear with BC i only have a navy square end knit, a brown/pink striped square end knit, coffee colored cashmere, and a purple cashmere with violet squares. think i mostly bought them as my fun ties so i need to polish my BC look a little more.

btw grenadines are out right?

Knit ties seem a good idea for B/C, as do woolen tartan ties. The bumpier raw silk ties as well would look the part.

knits are a no brainer for me. grenadines i have no idea. since they're my go to tie for a suit i was thinking they might be too formal.
