Espadrilles? Would you wear them?

I saw these on Paul Stuart's site, and I thought "huh? maybe" but then "on second thought, maybe not." Would you wear espadrilles?

Why do American guys tend not to like them? The ones in the opening post are about as silly as boat shoes, sandals, and jack purcells, but everyone loves those.

Living in the tropics, espadrilles are good footwear to wear on the short trip to the beach. I understand the haterz if worn in the urban setting, but it has its purpose.

I'd wear them on or near a beach, but I find that they give me blisters, so I don't.
