Thanks, some side by sides would be great. My saddle shell shoes came in today and...... they fit! Now I just need to find a couple nice matching belts.

    Dear Charlie,

Thanks very much. Yes, the belt is no problem at all, and I'm glad you insisted on five holes instead of three because strangely enough, although I'm not on any kind of voluntary hunger strike, sometimes I need a tighter fit. So another argument for five holes. Besides that I can only say there is a dark discolouring on the leather presumably exactly where the buckle part of the belt meets the other end, where the holes are. The readers here don't know that my belt has the natural blond or whatever the bridle leather is named. The yellow thread is just part of the whole excellent aesthetic judgment and perfect handwork.
So I must find out if Crocket & Jones Cottesmore, for example, is vegetable tanned or not?
If I were only to clean my boots with leather soap, afterwords they would appear faded, colourless, exhausted. What is oversaturated i.e. how do I know when I've used too much, and if I have, what can I do?
I really don't see the need for polish if the leathercare stuff is guarding the leather best?

Hi Equus Leather team; simple question here regarding the storage of my Equus Leather belt.

In the past, I've always bought and worn relatively cheap belts. After a couple of wear, most of them would tend to adopt a curved disposition (I'm guessing that it adopts my position when being worn) and look curvy when hanged. Now I guess this has a little bit to do with "leather" quality as well as wear, but this is something I'd like to prevent with my new Equus belt.

How should I go about storing it when not worn, to help the belt stay linear, not curved? Should I store it rolled on itself, or hanging?

Might seem like a funny question, but it is a legitimate one!

    Thanks!

    Hi Shawn,

This is actually a function of leather having memory more than good or bad leather, ours will do it two if allowed. There are a few things you can do to help prevent it though

    1) Rotate your belts - just like shoes if you have a rotation of belts they'll wear better!
    2) Dont always wear the belt the same way around. I always wear my belt with the point to my left as I imagine most do. If you alternate directions though the belt wont form a shape
    3) Hanging the belt when in storage will definitely help, I always do this.

The lowest stress thing to do is think of it as the belt learning your shape and just let it though :)

Im afraid Im not a shoe authority so may not be best placed to help with shoe questions! If the leatherfeed has dried and the finish of your shoes has returned to normal after youve buffed the feed of they will be fine Im sure. If not give the feed time to dry for a few days then buff them again. If your happy with the shoes as is then all is fine though!

    Hi All,

A few photos for you. This is a little card case with a slot for notes, a very simple design really. Its made completely with 1.5mm Gold Barenia and handstitched with Ecru Lin Cable. This is part of our ongoing wallet development thats taking a little while but we're progressing :) I think the design would work well with an inner panel in goatskin as well to get a contrast of colour and texture.

We'll get these on the website in due course, they'll be around £150

    Charlie

Looks extremely useful. My wardrobe has hooks at the back that serve the same purpose Charlie

    Hi All,

We've had quite a push to get our clearance belts on to the website over the last few days. They tend to sell as soon as we get them on but there are still 15 or so nice belts on there with discounts of 30% - 50%. Some are apprentice pieces, some have marks on the leather we rejected in the QC process but very often they were just made to the wrong size or with the wrong hole placments and again picked up in QC but otherwise perfect. Each belt has a desicription and photos of any faults and we dont list anything that has anything worse than small cosmetic flaws, they go in the scrap bin. Good oportunity to grab a bargin!

    Hi Charlie,

I've placed an order for 2 of the belts and I'll like to know if there's any issues delaying the shipment as I'll be away for travels in 2 weeks time.
As such, it'll be great if the items can be ship around the time I'm returning from my trip. I've also made this request in my order details.

    Cheers!

I've been following the wallets with interest. Any plans for larger wallets and bridle leather wallets?

Can you let us if you have something with a slightly bigger flaw? I know my dad would love one, but damages anything nice I give him.

Ordered three belts from the sale, my poor wallet :).
