Oil will definitely help to darken it, I don't find shoe polish works well though, it tends to rub off, bridle leather is stuffed with waxes already. Water and UV also work - basically thats what ageing is anyway. Nicely aged LondonTan is beautiful stuff - its as nice a colour as is possible in leather in my opinion.

    Hi Guys,

We have this on the website now, so the Wakugi belt is here as a special edition. Each buckle is hand made but a Japanese master Blacksmith from a traditional Wakugi nail so each is a unique piece. To the best of my knowledge we have the only 3 of these buckles in Europe, one is sold already so supply is quite limited! We will try get more but they take a long time to make so get them whilst they're here :) As promised they are £130 + VAT if needs be - the website will automatically deduct the VAT for you if your shipping address is outside Europe.

We've sold all the buckles we had to hand, thank you everyone! The belt is still on the website and will let you back order, but we will have a short wait whilst the next small batch is made and shipped from Japan.

Im still getting really useful feedback on the new website - thank you also everyone for that, much appreciated.

    Hi All,

The next small batch of Wakugi buckles is due in 4 - 6 weeks Im told. Ive marked them as out of stock on the website so people who stumble across the belt out of context don't buy one but happy to take pre-orders from anyone here who missed out on the last batch. Ive asked for 6 to be made this time.

No eta for the Damascus as yet - watch this space!

I just received a package of leather samples in today's mail. I wish I'd done it years ago. It is so helpful.

And if there is anything that smells as nice as a package of a dozen + leather swatches...I don't know what it is.

Congratulations, it gets even better considering the fact that Equus Leather is being immortalized right on the same page as an APRO! [IMG]

On the subject of press coverage, we're in the process of slowly updating our media page - latest addition is a feature in the Russian Edition of GQ. We're getting all our coverage on to the page as time allows - new websites are hard work!

    Hi All,

Im putting together a little project I thought people might find interesting. A little while ago I posted some photos of a prototype Natural Calf watch strap. Its made in the same way as our regular straps but with undyed natural calf finished with Carnauba wax so designed for maximum patination, very much like our Russet belts. Ive seen one or two russet straps around but they've all been (in my opinion at least) somewhat crude so I thought Id see what we could come up with.

    This is the prototype here

This exact strap is now in Pennsylvania with a really good watch strap customer and watch collector (and all around good guy - I suspect he's reading ;-) ) of ours who's doing some some beta testing for us. Theres going to be a photo taken of the ageing process of this strap on the first of each month so we'll build a really interesting library of how the leather darkens and ages over time. I know I'm a hopeless geek about these things but I think it'll be a really interesting project which I'll document here and on our blog

This is the photo from day 1

Looking forward to the 1st of June!
