Do you guys think that satin finish is better for casual or more dressy outfits? I like that it's a bit more matte.

Regarding formal belts: Do you think a black steel West End or Fillis would make a nicer formal belt for wear with a suit or slacks?

To me, polished is more formal. I think this is personal preference though and there probably isnt a right or wrong answer here.

Again, difficult one to give a definitive answer to because it depends what you like. The West End is the conventional choice but the Fillis is a nice twist, its just a little different than the belt buckles you see every day. My own preference would be the West End, but that is just personal preference.

    I hope that helps!

Another satisfied customer here. My belt arrived beautifully and carefully packaged and without a single flaw. Charlie and Dawn also get an A+ for communication. Now to decide on my next order...

What to do about water spotting/staining on a Baker's Russet belt?

    Hi Dopey,

You cant completely remove marks from the Russet really, its nature is to patinate. Thats its major benefit, it produces tremendous colour and character as it ages, of course it also means it'll take marks you dont necessarily want as well unfortunately. It will absorb marks into itself as time goes by though. The best thing to do I think would be to give it a good treatment of leather feed - it won't remove the mark as such but it'll help to merge it into the surrounding leather.

I hope thats some help - PM me so photos if you like

Just a quick heads up - I've just updated the Clearance Section today with some belts. I've not got pictures done yet, but they'll be there by the end of the day.

Thanks. I used some of the Sedgwick leather feed and it helped a bit, though the marks are still pretty visible. I guess I will just have to wait for the rest of the belt to catch up.

I'm having a hard time deciding between Hazel and Oxford Tan to match a pair of Walnut AE shoes. Can anyone with experience chime in please?

The Oxford Tan is a fairly new colour for us so there aren't a huge number of belts out in circulation yet. I'm always happy to send samples though - just PM me your address and I'll put some in the post if it would help see it first hand?

    Hi All,

Quite a few people have been in touch about the belt above - as promised its on the website now here. This is an evolution of the Russet Military belt we did a while ago, this version is its smarter cousin but retains the same double tounge and stitching that made the original popular.

On a side note Ive nearly tracked down some really nice quality suede I hope, also by popular demand - will keep the thread updated when Ive seen samples..

Another thumbs up for Equus here! I ordered the burgundy west end to go with my AE Park Avenues, and then got worried that the burgundy's would not match. I had them send me the swatches, and sure enough they didn't match, and didn't really compliment each other either. They had almost finished making my belt, but Charlie said it was no problem and offered to make a new one in Australian Nut for me! Outstanding service, and a great belt that seems to be very solid!

I will definitely be buying more as I wear out my cheaper department store belts.

    Glad to have helped :)

Just a thought for you guys in the US - we price everything in £Sterling so the £-$ exchange rate is very in your favour at the moment, its a cheap time to buy ;-)

Just ordered two belts this morning! Didn't have much of a choice, this thread and the pictures forced my hand. [IMG]

Just curious, how long does it take for them to be made and shipped?

    Hi Anakin,

    Thanks for the order :)

Everything is made to measure and to order and we have a waiting list of a calendar month or so - we'll keep you updated on progress though
