sfactor23 thanks for the pics. I think they will help a lot of people out. I do feel the black edge would look best on the black boot. I know for myself I am looking to recreate that boot in a dark brown with the same sole. I think the antique edge trim would look great with a brown boot. A storm welt might even take it a step in the more rugged look as Rob suggested.

I can see what he says about the black pair for a different leather and make-up. I will be the first to admit my first choice is the brown because that is the color I would buy. I have not heard back yet on if he will do 2 of them, but i am sure he will help us out. I live in the South and that is why I like the double oiled sole, since I see little snow and the comfort and flexibility is most important to me. I have talked with others in warmer climates also that like the lighter boot also. I am just hoping that we can get both made to get as many people happy as possible.

I absolutely hear you, and if I lived in an area where cold/snow were less of an issue, I would be more interested in the leather sole, too -
I sometimes say to my wife half-kiddingly that maybe we should move to Southern California - but then I realize I would need to add to my shoe collection to accommodate the warmer weather
Not necessarily a bad thing

actually, maybe it might be a bad thing because she would probably feel the same way about needing to add to her shoe collection

I'm cool with black or antique...no love for pebble grain black...tough as nails that is.

I agree with you: I don't like pebble grain, either - I don't like the look of it. I prefer the look of smooth leather -

If that is the case on the black, then I will see if he will do the heavier leather on a black pair.

If the brown boot starts to end up w/ a commando sole and a storm/reverse welt, you'd have another taker. Double leather becomes a maybe and single/flex is out. I can only get behind a boot with a sole that will stand up to Pac NW rainy winters.

It does not look like it is going to go commando sole, my last PM with Mike it was either as a single or double oiled sole. If he does a black version, then it will hopefully have the commando.

This boot will either be a trubalance or barrie to keep it looking more rugged.

also, I think I prefer the black edge, over the antique edge - to me, it gives it more of a classic look. However, it's not a deal breaker.

To me, I think what I'm really after is the LS lady calf jumpers, but "improving" it by using the "Pegasus" leather and a commando sole - to me, this keeps the simple aesthetic beauty of the boot, while making it more rugged/practical (at least for the weather here in the Northeast) ...

so, in case someone sees this but doesn't know what the LS black lady calf jumpers look like, here you go (just visualize matted leather and a commando sole, and I think you'll understand my idea) -

Bumping to see if we can renew any interest in this idea? I'd be game for this makeup.

Unless we can find someone else to help place the order we are out of lick on that boot. I was working with Mike at Epaulet, but he said he has a good amount of orders already, so he is not going to do this one now.
