1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Just sign me up for any boot in #4. I don't care what the wait is. :slayer: Seriously though it would be amazing particularly with Carmina's sleek lasts and superior finishing. Beautiful. What do folks think?

Hmmm... I think I may have revise my vote to Forest. I really like how the shape looks for this kind of boot, based on this image and the images of the short wing from the Epaulet Carmina makeups.

curious to hear the final tally of the suede austerity brogue pre-order. even a week or so ago, Mike mentioned it was around 17 orders in, which was way more than I expected given there were only a handful of people talking about them, but nonetheless, pretty sizable number.

As for the boot, one thing I was thinking of - could we make it two-tone? The upper saddle part saddle, and the lower chestnut, or vice versa. Would make for an absolutely fantastic boot.

One thing I'm beginning to wonder about is the Dainite combo sole with an antique edge trim. I can understand the desire for the Dainite sole, but I wonder just how low profile it really is from the side. I don't think we want the bottom layer of our antique edge trim to be black.

So, given this, who would be up for a two-tone make-up?

agree. the dainite sole is a deal-breaker for me. this will be for in-office and light commute use only, and i can't bear the idea of a rubber sole on a boot that is otherwise so elegant.

if dainite takes the vote, i would probably wait for the alden x leffot day tripper (oil dipped flex sole) instead.

    Thanks for your efforts,

Color is my deal breaker - I prefer saddle - so I'm out.

Unless those who want saddle can get together and also find the few (not sure how many) to make the minimum.

Since I'm unsure, I went back to look at Mike's post about the sole options. If, as he says, the Dainite combo sole looks the same as a leather sole from the side and this is true with an antique edge, then I'm OK with it. I am finding different looks on line. Leffot has photos of dress shoes with Dainite soles and LS has photos of Trickers with these.

Looks acceptable (thought the edge trim is darker than what I believe we have in mind):

    Not acceptable to me:

Of course, I can definitely live with a leather sole as well.

Yes, I believe that's right. We have a quorum on color right now with chestnut, but sole and last may undermine that. Of course, the austerity brogue had more takers than anticipated. So we'll see.
