1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Very nice. I really like the lighter colored shell.

    Congrats.

Do any of you have any experience using a sleeking bone on calfskin? Not a deer bone (which you can't use on calf), but a sleeking bone, like this one at KAHP: http://www.hangerproject.com/abbey-horn-sleeking-bone.html

I don't have welts on my calf, but it does get scuffed quite a bit.

It has been a bit since the last carmina mto. Any ideas on what would make a good next one?

I would love to see a dark cognac loafer with either a natural or antique edge trim

Depends...is everyone here looking for something that screams unique or is anyone ever looking for something a little more utilitarian?
I've got my eyes open for a workhorse, durable, all-weather, fairly-casual shoe. Specifically a shoe and not a boot. It would look something like:
    • Natural CXL / #8 Shell / (maybe a brown CXL or shell)
    • Blucher
    • Semi-brogue or shortwing
    • Dainite / commando sole

This Faulkner makeup from last year sometime would work for me pretty much as-is. Unfortunately I missed that window and now I keep thinking of how perfect it was.

I asked about a possible remake in the main thread a while ago and here is what Mike had to say:

Not 100% sure how much it ran but I been wanting to do it but the price for 1 pair is about $150-200 more than the Epaulet price. I know their were 2 runs and on the first run the python was relatively darker than the 2nd MTO run. I personally really would like it to be more the color of the 1st MTO run:

The sentiment of a no - style, high - waisted pants guy with drool and his Morrison ' s cafeteria turkey gravy spotting his ecru button down with the button missing on the gut because you outgrew it a decade ago.

The pictures from distance look surprisingly good. Like a well patinaed calf leather.

How about something in gray suede like LA Guy's chukka boot?

Not quite my friend :) your barking up the wrong tree there. I'm only 30 so I wear my pants quite low. I can appreciate different tastes. All the same, materials like that are best suited for a pair of cowboy boots.

Serious question: when would the python shoes ever be appropriate? What would you wear them with/to?

The python and lizard stuff always strikes me as tacky, same with fur. The animal is usually killed only for their skin and the rest is thrown away.
