There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I've got a pair of black suede/calf balmorals from Carmina and I found the same thing - perfect introduction to bal boots. The suede upper does make it really comfortable around the leg.

New and after 'The Shining' ...

Holy smokes, that's beautiful. From Skoak, right? How did you do it? Just wax, layer after layer? I really need to step up my shoe shine game.

Thanks! Yes, it's layer after layer of wax.

I know there's no exact formula, but how many layers would you have to apply to achieve that polish?

This one took me about 20 or so micro-layers but I've achieved it with less effort on other shoes.

5 layers at a time and I leave it and come back to it later. God knows I have more than enough other pairs of shoes to wear in the meantime.

^ 5 layers in one go? Do you wait at all between those coats? I had my first experience with wax a few months ago and it ended up cracking a bit.

Bumping Mike's suggestion (post #917) of the wholecut brogue in caramel. Anyone interested?

Same. Would love a lizard single monk. Preferably either brown.

Mike, will you be re-stocking the Rand monkstrap in snuff suede or the Salinger double monk in burgundy shell cordovan anytime soon? I've waited too long and you're out of stock in my size (US 12D).

Single monk in Lizard would be pretty cool.

How long do you think it'll take for the Austerity Brogues in Burgundy with the darker sole? 3 months?

This is what Mike had to say about turnaround time for the MTOs last week. It really does depend though. I put down my deposit for the Terracotta boots 2 months ago and it's scheduled to come in this week some time. I believe the usual time fore these is between 8 and 12 weeks.
