1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I originally submitted a deposit for the first scotchgrain boot, but because I was late (after all the orders were submitted), mine fell through the cracks.

So, yeah, I have a deposit down for the remake...but I don't know when the remake is coming!

how does one start a MTO group buy? I saw someone post a pic of a MTO Carmina austerity brogue in dark oak (which looks similar to the EG Beaulieu) and was curious how long it took to make, how many people had to get in on a MTO shoe to make it worthwhile and the cost.

^ just post your idea and see how much interest, if any, the makeup collects. It's typically done by posting a picture here and your initial thoughts.

Speaking of which, how about a navy shell jodhpur??????

    I'd hit that.

... and then I'd buy a pair of navy shell jodhpurs.

I would like to see a Carmina MTO austerity brogue in burgundy, just like the EG Beaulieu's above

When I have a jodhpur idea, all I hear is crickets. When Namor "The boot god" has a jodhpur idea, he's halfway to his MTO participation minimum within four hours.

Your idea sounds interesting but alas, I've probably surpassed my shoe budget for the year (decade?). Were you thinking forest or rain last (the picture looks like something inbetween these two)? Shell or calf?

I might be interested in the Austerity, too. From what I recall (and for what it's worth), the Snuff MTO was on Rain and came out really nice.

This would need to be done on the Robert to look correct.

I might be in, if you were thinking shell cordovan (But I just got a call from the local Carmina stockist telling me that the Carmina rep just left some samples, so I need to see what he can do).

I know the idea has already been bandied about, but it would be great if we could get a cognac shell chukka in the works. My preference would be for one of the sleeker, narrower lasts and a york sole.
Here's a pic of pretty much exactly what I would like:

    Yes, please.

I've needed a staple boot like this for so long.

There we go. Already two of us. We only need four more, correct? Oh yeah, and consensus too.

    Hey guys!

Hope all is well! There's some great ideas flying around. We'd love to put some new Austerity Brogues into work, and it's a great time to start thinking about Fall styles. If we confirm orders within the next month, then we can get delivery right at the start of the season.

We're expecting a fresh delivery of shoes this month. I should know what's going to be in there within the next week or so, and I'll post up all of the styles here just as soon as I get the word.

In the meantime, I'm going to build out the Navy Calf Adelaide and the Chocolate Suede/Chocolate Calf Jodphur remakes on the site this week. Both of those came out absolutely stunning, and I agree that we're well due for a remake.
