Spring is in the air, which means it's time for some of you gents to start peacocking. And what better way to do that than with these now out-of-production bordeaux poplin trousers from Epaulet? I bought these when they dropped in the spring of 2010 and they became my go-to pant that summer. I don't exaggerate when I say that my regular wearing of them that summer led to my friends speaking of "APK [real name redacted duh] and his red pants" in a way one speaks of a legend. And why not? Here in Michigan, a pair of dandy pants like this is bound to stick out like a sore thumb among the fleet of cargo shorts cloaking the city during the summer.
Unfortunately, the "red pant legend" had to be put out to pasture a year ago, as these no longer fit me in a way that don't put me dangerously close to indecent exposure. My loss, as they say, is your gain.
Despite being worn quite a bit during that summer, these remain in great condition. There are no rips, tears, or anything like that. I see no stains or noticeable blemishes, either. They could use an ironing, since they've been folded up for the better part of a year. But you can do that, can't you? Sure.
These suckers retailed for $165 and as I said, they are long gone and not coming back. I haven't seen another pair of these in this size. But since they've been worn, let's go for $105 plus the actual cost of shipping and 4 percent PayPal fees.
These haven't been altered and are in line with the measurements of the Walt.
I've included the stock photos along with one shot of the actual pair. You will not have trouble telling which one that is.
