Just ordered the moss regiment twill slim walts from the sale section. Most of my pants are the rudy cut so I sized up one. I'm willing to risk it since the price is good. I'm so temped on the navy flannel SC but there is just too much other stuff i'm wanting to get to justify the purchase. I also have several navy jackets already.

Also temped my a few Carmina in my size... Hoping someone picks them up fast so that I can be put out of my misery.

What do you guys have against the red vneck sweaters on the sale page!! I would but two of those if they were in my size, even at the old sale price. Those are a great deal.

Question on the carmina pebble grain shoes, the grain structure on the pictures looks really prominent, almost like a lizard skin. Does that make it a bit more difficult to wear in more formal situations? What are your thoughts guys?

I asked myself this question and I couldn't answer it, so I bought the sweater. It appeared to be the last one. Also grabbed the short sleeve tartan linen shirt. I've been eyeing that one all summer but couldn't quite pull the trigger. The sale made the decision easy and I'm happy to stash it until next spring/summer. :D

It sort of depends on your definition of a formal situation, but I think they're fine for business casual but not for a suit level of formality. Maybe with a casual suit in the right situation. I've seen them in the LES shop and think one could wear them with everything from denim to sport coat and tie combos. I just grabbed a pair and plan to wear them with the latter.

Hello All,

My first post on style forum.  I am interested in a few things from epaulet.
Can anyone tell me about the navy duck canvas blazer? How does it compare to a hopsack fabric in look/color/texture? How does the color hold up over time? Is it stiff? Machine wash or dry clean? Does it need to be washed regularly or can you get a few wears out of it before cleaning? Are the sleeve buttons working?
Also, interested in the rivet chino.  Looking for a new pair of navy pants but do not know whether to go for the duck canvas or not.

Neither item would be used for business dress, more along the lines of dressing up a casual outfit for the jacket and the pants go the same way.
Also, how heavy is the fabric? I live in Louisiana and it is pretty hot.  Thank you for any help.

Apologies if this has bee covered and I missed it, but any word on when the MTO Super 120s suiting might be going up? My wallet's open and trigger finger's itching. :D

I'm wearing mine today. I've worn it a few dozen times and its holding up just fine. Haven't washed it yet - I'm pretty sure it's dry clean only. (I'm sure mike or Matt will chime in to confirm that). I also have the hopsack, which feels a bit more formal, given that its darker and a finer texture fabric, though I do still wear the hopsack as a sport coat more than a suit (I have the matching pants). The sleeve buttons are not working, which I like because I can feel free to alter the sleeves on EP jackets. I never really bother with functioning buttons - seems too fussy given the added expense. As for the heat - I definitely consider it a summer jacket. I imagine in Louisiana you're going to be pretty warm in any jacket, but the cotton duck is probably going to breathe just as well if not better than anything (other than maybe linen), given that there's very little lining in the navy duck.

Hope that's helpful.

That pebble grain makes it a more casual plain toe blucher. I would wear it with casual clothes (chinos, corduroy) all the way up to business casual -- sport coat and slacks. Would not wear it with a suit - unless something like a tweed suit -- ie. suit equivalent of sport coat and slacks.
