I don't have a lot to add to the conversation about things to do, Mike, but to weave two threads together, I'll reiterate a comment from a couple years ago (that you and someone else already mentioned), which is to shoot more short videos of the people who make your products and the stuff getting made. I think it's important for your brand that you use mostly USA factories because you like to be able to easily visit the people who are making stuff for you. The videos would emphasize all of those points. You're in LA, surely you can find someone willing to shoot and edit the video at a reasonable rate!

I also think it would be good to photograph more of the unusual MTO stuff that passes through your hands before you ship it out. And not just on a hanger. Even laid flat in a fit that you create would be a fun lookbook-ish way to illustrate what people can actually do with your MTO programs.

And as long as you're thinking about another sashiko model, I'll make a pitch for straight-leg version with a drawstring waist. Source some cool cord for the draw string. I'm thinking like a 19" leg opening on a 33/34 waist.

Great idea on the styling of MTO pieces. As long as they're size 40 to 44, we can always stick a distinct shirt underneath and show more off. I wonder if I can make a rig that shows a pant with it too where it still gets to be on the dressform.

Regarding the pant concept, I think that's a great idea and very in line with stuff that's growing in popularity, but I think that the self belt of the EZ pant scared off a lot of potential customers. And that was still totally removable. Even though I kind of beat the versatility angle into the ground, that's a huge part of what we're known for... well made pieces that you can dress up or down.

Love the idea of a wider leg model though. Maybe we can try an easy run in our least expensive cloth (8oz canvas) and see how it's received. PM me if you have any specific pant styles you think I should look at. Thanks!

So.. this is an honestly non-judgmental question to everyone out there who participated in our recent projects:

We sold about 95 Doyles and close to 75 totebags. Got them in on time and shipped them out complete. I had a few return requests (10 jackets or so), but everything else was retained by the customers. I haven't seen any photos or heard any feedback besides one very early tote bag pic.

A very large part of this customer base is on Styleforum, so I'm wondering... what are your thoughts on posting photos or feedback? Is it too difficult with the interface here? Do you feel that people acknowledge your contribution enough? Is there something that I can do to make it easier or more attractive to post things?

Hey Mike,

I recently was trying to post some photos B&Tailor sent along from my fitting with them in the Bespoke thread. I always tend to get mystified as to when something should be an attachment, when cut and paste works - when I was playing in the preview, I would sometimes see the image 2x. I am not an Instagram guy, and upthread it seems that the Instagram content sharing isn't immediately obvious to people.

I didn’t post a photo of my Doyle jacket because I generally don’t take pictures of myself. I’ll just say I ordered the mink colored jacket and like it enough to order the green one. I was wearing one of them to a dinner with my parents and older brother earlier this week. Now my brother is probably going to order the merlot colored one.
Update- just checked the site and looks like he did order the last size 40 in merlot.

@Epaulet , Just got the Murder Ink Doyle delivered! It’s definitely None More Black!! I am thrilled with how the buttons came out. The dye gives them an iridescent black patina that’s so nice!! I love how a mistranslation could become an unexpected winner! Can’t wait to wear it!!!

Long time lurker. Maybe this has been answered but are you making more of the Doyle Jackets in Sashiko Shadow Ink? Would like a 44 or 46.

Welcome! Hmm no plans at the moment. I’ve got 44 in Mink, Azure, and Army... and 46 in Merlot available at the moment.
