To me, this is the best fit yet (although it's not the clearest photo).

It's just a white 2 ply shirt made by a local tailor. :)

... and just bought an Italia sea foam shirt. Drinking before buying is not a good idea.

Just gotta drop in for my quarterly testimonial about how stellar the customer service from Mike and the rest of the Epaulet crew is. Dudes come through every time. Respect.

So the other day I am wearing my blue oxford rivets and the seam near my thigh/crotch area begins to rip, didn’t really think much of it until I took it to my tailor who works on all of my stuff including these oxford rivets and he noticed something a little weird when inspecting the pants… He shows me the lining of the butt area and it had started fraying completely all the way down to the inner thigh, I immediately went back home to get my gray oxford rivets as well which had done the same exact thing. I have worn each of these pants one time and have no idea why this would happen, has this happened to anybody else's oxford rivets that they got taken in?

My tailor said it could be manageable but it would have to take some form of “reinforcement” along the rear end and that it would not necessarily be cheap to do, he also reiterated to me several times that he thinks the material or fabric for these pants should only be for shirts (mind you he is a 78 year old Persian man so I will take his comments with a grain of salt). I’m a little bummed about the whole thing to be honest, wasn’t expecting this, I’m a little less confident about wearing these pants on the regular now and hate that the cost to repair them after 1 wear will be high.

That's concerning since I took mine in along the legs quite significantly.

It really pops in the sun, but in lower light they look more subdued. It's nice, since they sort of seem to morph to the appropriate hue!

On an unrelated note, I tipped a friend to Epaulet yesterday who just changed jobs is stoked to re-up on clothes that are more his style. Here's a snippet of our text exchange.

Did you size down as suggested?

I'd contact Mike with the issue and see what he says. I'll start wearing mine in about a week once I get them back from the tailor.

I feel your pain both pairs of my Oxford rivets had to be returned due to seems coming apart. Even my canvas pants have had issues. From my tailors observations the seams should be done better. I have a pair with the seam fraying near the pocket now.

lol!! the epaulet addiction comes swiftly and will ravage your bank account. i would advise your friend to forget about a budget. if i see something i really like and my size is available, i buy it because otherwise it will probably be gone by the next day. i have a "budget" which i am usually over, sometimes much much over.

that said, i've accumulated a pretty good rotation of walts, rivets, and epaulet shirts since the end of 2010, so i don't feel like i *need* as much anymore. if i really like a shirt, then i custom order it in XS. :D

I did not, or could not rather since I wear a S in their shirts. But tbh my ideal size in that is probably more of a smedium
