    Hey Mike,

Any the Natty CXLs could be special ordered in narrower sizes?

    Thanks

Thanks a lot. That helps. However, to me your width measurement of (7.5'') at 29'' inseam is hard to understand. The site listed opening width at 34'' is 7.5''. Is there no taper at all from 29'' to 34''?

Since you're in the EU, you can most likely get Saphir products easily, with no import duties. If cost is a concern, avoid their MDO range and just get the regular Saphir stuff. In addition to shoe care products for finer leathers, they make a number of items for more rugged leathers like the Crazy Horse. As Mike recommends, a product with mink oil would be an excellent choice. Look for Saphir Creme Universal, which is a cream with beeswax and mink oil.

Saphir also makes waterproofers called "Dubbins," which will not feed or moisturize your shoe's leather as much as a cream, but will seal it and keep the elements out. The MDO version apparently has more mink oil in it.

Walts aren't really tapered that much. They're slim, but not ultra skinny. A 7.5" leg opening for a trouser is pretty slim. I wear a size 32 with a 30.75" to 31.25" inseam, and, having just measured, at both 29" and at the hem the leg width measures 8".

This being said, you can get Walts tapered easily. Opening leg seams to taper a trouser is very easy for a tailor -- at my tailor I think tapering is $8 or $9.

all my walts are already hemmed to ~ 29" inseam. you should really get a pair, you'll love them and never look back. i think i'm up to 10 walts now.

rivets are more casual and fit slimmer. for size 28:
    leg opening at 31" inseam = 7"
width at 12" from the crotch seam = 8"

Thanks! Will definitely grab a pair of the walts. I was worried that the 7.5'' opening would be too narrow, but we'll see. How does the higher rise work for you guys?

^ Wouldn't have the rise any other way. A proper trouser should have a higher rise. It makes the fabrics drape in a way that only a trouser can, and keeps your shirts tucked in. So much recent Incotex has rises of 10" or less -- which is great for denim and chinos, but not for trousers.

I think Mike is obsessed with the topic of trouser rises, so he can say more I'm sure.

So shoe trees aren't necessary, rotation is tke key. Thanks Mike, I'll keep that in mind!

Alright, I'll give this Saphir a try. Mink oil is the fat from this animal - http://ecologyadventure.edublogs.org/species/animals/mink-mustela-vison/ isn't it?

I have just noticed all the thumbs up and positive comments on the post where I pasted link to my YouTube video, page 837 (I'm still getting hang of styleforum tools) - THANKS GUYS!!! So kind.

Meso: thanks, I've been waiting for approval, haha :). I earn some money doing English tuition, would like to teach Polish through Skype as well - guess there is some demand for that around the globe and I found a site where tutors of different languages can advertise themselves. Definitely would pay off better for me than English tuition. I live 100 km south of Warsaw, here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radom

Haha I see you're in the same area I'm in (Saratoga is where I'm at). That's an excellent collection - where do you get yours hemmed? I'm thinking of picking up some rivets but... not sure. Thoughts on those?

You, guys seems don't appreciate much service chino line. It seems there isn't any picture of you wearing them. did you try them and find they don't fit or you don't like the side pocket .
What do you think about them?

I don't really like the side pocket myself. Not sure if you could have them removed by a tailor.
