Thinking of buying either the Rudy Brown Houndstooth trouser or the Wine Chino's, any new on which will likely sell out quicker?

Pull the trigger on the wine for the rivet chinos move fast.

Out to dinner with the Mrs last night, quick i-Phone shots of the cherry rivets, seersucker shirt, and austerity brogues:

Actually I think rivets are extremely true to size in the waist. I.E., a 32" waist is not much more than 32" measured -- you can check it on the size charts. Most people, myself included, are used to pants that are up to 3" larger than tagged size, mostly because they are designed to sit on the hip rather than the waist. For example my true waist is around 32.5" but where I wear most of my casual pants is around 34."

Don't forget that they are slim pants, so the rise is lower, the thighs are slimmer etc. Not everyone can wear them. I'm personally looking forward to buying a new pair because the latest version is alterable.

You'll be able to sell those here on B&S for .80 on the dollar....

    Mike,

The Marcello stuff looks great. Any chance of doing a Southwick cotton suit in the future? In a tan or navy?

    ^^^ NYR nice fit.

The wine chinos will probably sell out faster, but the Brown Houndstooth trousers are impossibly incredible. I have the Brown Houndstooth suit (there's a matching Southwick jacket) and wear it all the time; always get compliments, if that's important.

A friend needed some help finding dress trousers, and the Walt I showed him was the Brown Houndstooths. The first words out of his mouth were literally, "Holy shit, those are nice." The suit notwithstanding, they're great to wear on their own, or with an odd jacket.

The regular flap pockets were a big selling point for me. I'm not totally against patch, but given the fabrics and that they're unstructured, patch might have made them veer too far to the casual end of the SC spectrum.

    Just my two cents.

I really want the olive drab service pants, but I would need to get them altered (hemmed and tapered). Will the taped seams affect the ability to have those alterations done to them?

If anything, the taped seams would make it easier for a tailor to do so.

Or are you talking about the herringbone taping down the outside leg? Even if so, you'll still be able to do both.

Yes, I'm referring to the herringbone tape on the outseam. Should be no problem?
