Wow, that leaf green is gorgeous. Greens and other earthy tones are my favourite to wear. If I didnt have French Blue and Caramel on my wish list, id go for those when they launch. Lets see what the upcoming stock online provides.

    those look great, btw.

I wonder how much of the new Rivet Chinos will be available by the time they get online. Since they already started selling at the shops last weekend, I'm guessing the popular stuff like the 7oz French blues are already sold out? Luckily for me, while the new colors modeled by NYR all look very nice, I don't think I'll be getting them. I do hope the pink gingham Ashland shirt is still available though.

I was wondering the same thing, so I called today and ordered what I believe was the last pair of French Blue 34's.

Is this new rivet fit looking quite baggy to everyone else? The old-new fit was a bit snug, the new-new fit looks baggy, maybe the OG fit needs another look.

Let me re-iterate that I'm ordering a size up than I usually do, not for any other reason beside the fact that I was prob ordering them too small in the old Rivet. I think they'll be putting Dylan's pic up and that would be best to judge "fit".

holy crap really? So I'll be waiting for the next restock again for the French Blue (I'm a 34)? I don't know, I think Mike usually posts in this thread to give us a heads up when new product is stocked online, so it's a little hard to believe that some sizes will already be sold out before it hits their online store. I really like that Leaf Green color too, hopefully I can at least pick those up this time around.

Mike, I washed them on cold and hang dried them, didn't put them in the dryer. i've probably washed them 3 times I'd say and regretfully they are definetly shorter now than they were after the first one or two washes.

Mike and Adele and Co. clearly need to close the brick and mortar locations and serve SF members only. What's the trade? Access to a market of millions in the five boroughs and surrounds for the dedicated few?

    :D

I *think* he said they were expecting more to arrive, but I could be wrong. Maybe call up the Brooklyn store and see if they have some.

I believe in the past Mike has said that they allocate some stock to be in store and some to be put online. The reason the last batch sold out so quickly was because they had taken reservations, which they will no longer be doing for this very reason. So you may have in fact purchased the last french blue in a 34 7oz, but that doesnt mean that they havent reserved 'x' amount to be placed online.

with these past shipments selling out so quickly, it would be bad business to not divide up the shipments between brick & mortar and online space. it really is two separate business models.a proprietor wouldnt want to alienate the people who dont live in their home city.

having said all that, i could be wrong, and you may have in fact gotten the last laugh.

I just grabbed a pair of the grey shadow stripe Walts after debating myself on whether I should get it for a couple of weeks. I realized I've pretty much been getting weekly shipments from Epaulet for the last month and change, with no end in sight yet. Unless they sell out all the new stuff before putting them online.

    New vs Old Chino Fit

    Hey guys,

I've been getting a lot of PM's about the new vs old chino fit. I've got a quick photo comparison to show you the difference:

On the left is the brand new 7oz French Blue, and on the right is the "old" fit in Optic White. The leg fit on both of these is identical. Thighs are the same, knees are the same, leg opening is the same. The only difference is an extra 0.5" in the waist and a little bit extra throughout the seat. You can see how the French Blue has a nice fit throughout while the Optic White is slightly tight at the top, and is pinching him a bit around the waist. It's a tiny tweak that I'm confident results in a better fit. I've seen about 40 pairs sell since this past week. It definitely works, and most of those units went to repeat customers. The Rivet Chino isn't the slimmest pant on the market - it's not intended to be - but the new fit is just as slim as it always was. Most customers won't even really notice a difference, they'll just feel that the top block is a bit more comfortable and balanced.

We actually pool all of the stock between the two stores and the website. One of the first rules of good e-commerce is to offer maximum access to inventory.

I won't lie, 7oz stock is pretty tight after this weekend's sales. It wasn't intentional, but mostly due to warmer weather arriving earlier. We plan out our shipments months in advance, so I only planned to get a small delivery of true Summer-weight pants for this early April delivery. Typically, it's not too hot yet in our key markets. But the weather was Summer-like in NYC and everyone was buying them in our store. In past years, most people didn't even look at linens, short sleeve shirts, shorts, lightweight pants, etc until mid to late May. But the Summer demand moved up quite a bit this year, so we have to play a bit of catch-up. Stock for this 7oz delivery is minimal, but we'll surely have more coming within the next few weeks. The 7oz is KILLER, so believe me, I want to make up a ton of it.

That said, we've got something like 200 units of chinos coming tomorrow - which are massive restocks of our basics: navy, khaki, gunmetal, black, & clay. And some units in our greatest hits of duck canvas. So there are lots of chinos to go around even if the 7oz are more scarce than I would prefer. We'll work to get everyone covered!

Looking good, and please let me know what your wife thinks of the shirtdress!

Thanks so much! You're going to love those.

They're getting the finishing touches in Italy as we speak. I'm hoping to get them by the end of next week. In other jacket news, our new Southwick for Michael Kuhle stuff is going up tomorrow. Including this grape cotton/linen/silk beauty:
