I'm a size 9 (Barrie last) and I wear an 8.5 in the Carmina lasts Mike has.
Just embrace it.
After a period of self-reproach, most probably I will, but then my wallet will just walk out on me third world problems and all. Btw, I'm not 100% sure, but I'll probably be the first (or one of the first) proud Epaulet wearer in the country (10 mln population), so maybe I deserve a bit of self-indulgence.
What are the policies on returns? I saw that there are no refunds, just credit/exchanges - what about shipping costs for returns?
Per Mike's signature:
Free US shipping on all orders over $50. 14-day refund return policy for all Styleforum members.
being a styleforum member you actually get a full refund. you just have to note it in your return. Return shipping costs are at your expense.
What Alden last are you a 9 in? If it is Barrie and your foot is a pretty average D width, then my guess is the 9.5 will work. Completely understand your concern, though.
Very interested in all of the above. Hopefully, I'll be online so I can select canvas Rivets in my choice of color.
Nope, 9 in the non Barrie or Modified Lasts.
Been looking for Ravello or Whiskey PTB in 8.5 Barrie Last for a while but no luck.
Picked up the "grey shadow stripe" walts at the Orchard store this wknd... man this is a uniquely beautiful color that is still "mainstream" enough for any business occasion. Highly recommended!
Also tried the new 7oz Rivets... lighter weight was nice but they def. "fit" differently due to the fabric.
Hmmm. In this case, I think you may be right to cross your fingers for the restock.
Can you elaborate?
They just have less structure due to the lightness which causes more of a "drapey" less defined silhouette which wasn't for me... but I am fairly slender so if you have thicker legs it might be better.
Just my take, not gospel.
I def. wanted to buy though since I am in Los Angeles and TX a lot but wasn't for me. I love the 10oz tho.
Fabric isn't what makes the fit different, its the tweaked fit. The 10oz French Blue and Caramel are more snug, these even have a bit of room and I may stick em in the dryer for a few minutes after the original wash...then will hem these with a small flip up cuff showing off the herringbone. Mike mentioned about a half inch more in the waist and seat and thighs...perfect for fat asses like me! New colors are freaking ACE!
Ah.. I'll bow to your inside scoop then.
I def. prefer the old fit for myself but ofc every one has different body type.
