medium bd is definitely more snug than medium epaulet. my m bd at the last button is 18.75" and for my m epaulet it's 19.75 (just measured for you) i have a little bit of a gut so i prefer epaulet's medium and now go L in BDs

WvG xs bd is larger than xs epaulet in both the waist and the chest, so the brand comparison does not hold true across all sizes. if anyone wants more detailed measurements, send me a pm.

Would you say the linen cutaway shirt shirts after a wash? With a L in gitman vintage fitting me spot on if not slightly fitted, I'm worried I would end up needing an XXL :(

do take note that epaulet shirts are darted at the lower back, something that Gitman does not have

^that should work great for me, since the lower back on my gitman vintage oxfords juts out like a plastic bag in the wind...

Great look. I really have to get some straightforward khaki Epaulet trousers.

I have plenty of Madras. Sure I do.

Also, I recall that a new batch of Carminas are due in sometime soon, with shadowy and oblique reference made to a saddle shell makeup, the intimation being that it will be of some particular interest to those of us given to such things. Any further details? When are you expecting the new models?

Great fit on those. I've been sitting on the Cramertons for a while now as newer pant releases keep leapfrogging it. But I'd be upset if my size ever sold out. I've tried them on -- great fit and fabric. Perhaps it's time for me to commit.

Question: I love the shirts. I normally buy Brooks Bros dress shirt in size 14.5 in their Extra Slim Fit and it fits perfectly. Would getting an Epaulet shirt in size S be too big?

I would suggest the size XS.

Woah, I just noticed this when I was curious to see what shoes you were going to pair up with those black canvas rivet chinos. There seems to be a link error in the description.

My wallet is scared to death with the thought of ordering an Epaulet shirt. Judging by the measurements, it looks like none of the sizes will fit me very well - a Large is probably closest, but the neck is still about an inch too big, and if I sized down to a Medium it would definitely be too tight in all other areas. However, if I try one and it fits well then I will end up going broke replacing all my shirts with Epaulet, just like I did with my pants.

I wear the BB extra slim shirts in 16" so I can't directly answer your question. But in terms of overall fit, the BB extra slim and Epaulet shirts are night and day. Epaulet shirts are much closer to the chest, much slimmer in the sleeves and, because of darting, less prone to bagging out in the back. Real care and attention have been paid to the fit.

An S should work. I have 15.5 / M ESF shirts and they aren't that slim as I'm relatively fat, I can barely button up an M in Epaulet

I'm surprised that you don't have any Epaulet shirts yet. I got 5 in Mediium before deciding that I'd trade a bit of slim-ness for a bit more comfort in a Large. Before I knew it I have 4 more shirts in Large (and probably more to come). For me, the neck is also about an inch too big in Large, but I find that it shrinks a bit if I run it though the dryer after first wash. I've also gone for casual shirts in Large so far, so a bit bigger collar isn't as big of a deal.

Now get some Epaulet shirts already! :slayer:

Welcome to the club...started out with a sale shirt to test the waters and haven't looked back.

I also think I may try a shirt in a Large, as all of my Epaulet shirts are for casual wear, and the medium chest is pretty snug on some of them. Just worried the waist will be more billowy if I o go a size up. What say you Macktastic?
