Here’s a blast from the past. Epaulet Brixtons. I picked these up second-hand around 2013-2014. They were my first pair of Alden shell.

Sadly I had to let them go. It took me a few attempts to nail down my sizing.

Easily the nicest pair of shell Aldens I’ve ever owned, and this is coming from a guy whose owned numerous pair of “rare” shell.

Did anyone order an alpaca cap? The bucket hat is super nice. Not too warm and extremely soft. I've worn mine a few times.
I love mine! Softest, warmest cap I’ve ever owned. Here it is with my alpaca sweater and a gap shirt that my late mother bought back when they made clothes which lasted a while.

My only (minor, unfair, and outside the normal use case) quibble is that I wore it while loading stuff into the car to evacuate from the Eaton Fire the other night and it picked up more smoky smell than any of my other clothes. Better it than ash in my hair.

I have a few surprise stock fabrics for our upcoming Rivet Jean delivery. One of them is a true throwback fabric. It's Cone Mills White Oak indigo from 2004.

21 years old. Even has the original tag..

I'm excited for you guys to see it! These aren't selvedge, so they'll also be a bit less expensive than the others.

Which got me thinking of other things from 2004. How about this video of the Beastie Boys on the Chappelle Show. Rapping on the waterfront in DUMBO. MCA was still alive. And Dave Chappelle was.. the old Dave. It's pretty freaking awesome:

My only quibble was the inner tag was a pain to remove. The alpaca fibers are so delicate I put a tiny hole in them. Luckily no one can notice when worn with the reverse side out. It just bothers my OCD. :embar:

The watch cap has no tag, so no quibble there.

OK, thanks for asking. Our house is still standing, although the one two doors down burned as did others on the block. We just have some wind damage and a lot of ash to clean up.

So many family, friends, and co-workers have lost everything though. I’ve lost count. So many GoFundMes, donation drives, and trying to help without having too much survivor guilt. Not that we have any idea when we’ll be allowed back in or have power or be able to drink the water.

In a strange way, at least I feel like losing my mother last year has given me trauma training wheels to deal with this.

Legendary Heavyweight British Tweed: 20 Fabrics Available

Woven in the United Kingdom, the "Alsport" collection of heavyweight wools offers a modern take on the traditional British country tweed. Descended from hunting and outdoorsman garments, it's called "thornproof" for good reasons!

Each tweed weighs in at 19oz... just a touch heavier than Harris Tweed.. and will offer generations of faithful service. Woven from Scottish Cheviot sheep's wool, these gorgeous fabrics are warm, robust, complex, and incredibly durable.

Alongside this are two 27oz Whipcords.. the heaviest wool that we've ever offered.
They provide exceptional protection against cold, wind, and light precipitation.

Anyone get any Rivets in the most recent batch yet? I got a shipment notification on 1/3, but tracking is showing that UPS still doesn't have the package yet

Hey there! Oh sorry, that was my fault, I was waiting to get your grey check chinos back from hemming, but the workshop had to close most of last week due to smoke.

I actually shipped your two preorder chinos and your custom shirt today.. I'll get the hemmed grey check pants later this week and send it along separately with USPS. Should only be a day or two.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
