1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

This is a pair of snuff suede plaintoe boot on barrie with brass eyelets I own, it's a pretty sweet make up. [IMG]

I vote for natty cxl as a second, non shell, Ryden boot. Same details such as brass eyelets and commando sole.

This is from LS website with slight difference of crepe sole and non-brass speed hooks.

A cool alternative would be the little tanker from Winn perry, chamois is a pretty durable and cool leather too. Picture from Winn Perry:

The kudu leather would be cool too, perhaps with a lug sole for more durability? Alden of Madison recent ran this make up:

If that's what you're looking for (snuff suede, plain toe, brass eyelets, crepe sole), it's readily available at Brooks Brothers.

@Epaulet how long will we have to change size after the boot preorder? I definitely want in but am not 100% sure of my Barrie size? I want to try a pair on but won't be able to until sometime later this weekend.

Owning more than a few pair of Alden's, I'm in the camp that that the crepe sole gets a bad wrap. It's appropriate for certain makeups and you can't really debate that it's comfortable. I do understand that it's kinda' ugly on certain shoe/boot combos though

I ordered the legendary donegal w/ taping and a zip fly. Good configuration? Or should I have gone w/ the button fly or no taping? I'll defer to your judgement!

I am probably partially at fault for that. But as a SoCal resident, I have no need for the "creep" sole.
