Anyone have tips for maintaining the crease in the heavier tweed pants? It seems to fall out very quickly due to the thickness of the fabric.

Seconded - this is especially the case on my chessboard tweeds.

Late to the party, but my congratulations go to Mike, Adele and Altmana [IMG] I'm only at the proposing stage right now...

    Good luck @neutrino !

Another perspective on this: I find cuffs these days to be more traditional, and generally to look better on odd trousers than on suits, and with heavier fabrics. The key is getting the cuff height and trouser width in line with your body's own proportions. I'm 6' tall, and with my size 32 walts (8" width), I do a 2" cuff. Tried 2.5" once, and it looked too big. Generally shorter guys do shorter cuffs, but that's not a hard and fast rule. The best thing is to try it out and play around with it.

Heavier fabrics do lose their crease more easily. If it bothers you, you can get in the habit of spot-ironing the crease very gently (you don't want to put undue wear on those areas). Many dry cleaners also will press your trousers -- i.e. press only, no cleaning -- for a couple of bucks.

I hope no one objects me to linking to another vendor, but Kirby from the Hanger Project worked with Nick from B. Nelson's Shoes to write a guide about when to resole your shoe that I found very helpful: http://www.hangerproject.com/shoe-care-guide/when-to-replace-soles

^ I've seen Nick do the thumb press before. I have a soft spot on a pair of 403s that he said was fine. He said the key thing is if it's spongy/weak; then it needs replacing.

Congrats to the growing Epaulet nuclear family!

You know, we all have a duty to buy more Epaulet goodies now. Just tell your wives/girlfriends/partners/accountants/therapists that there are mouths to feed.

Congrats Mike and Adele! SO happy for you guys...like I've told you before, there is no greater joy in life than being a dad and watching your baby grow!
It takes balls posting the first fit pic after a baby shot...good for you SvB! Here's mine, and my BRAND NEW EpLA Sweatshirt. I love it. I've basically been living in these jeans and my W&H stuff this winter. Glad to add this to "complete" my uniform...fit is great, better on me than the W&H where I'm a medarge. This is a medium, and spot on. Underneath is the EpauletNY Denim Shirt. Grabbed the Denim Western shirt yesterday, and will be in that tomorrow...also a great addition. Stoked about the LA line, and especially about the West Coast pricing...great stuff! [IMG]
